Fabrychna 12 was founded by Nata Zhyzhchenko, known as Onuka, and Ievhen Filatov, know as The Maneken. "We are establishing a workshop-laboratory to rethink and preserve the Ukrainian cultural heritage in my hometown of Chernihiv. The location is chosen deliberately — it’s my grandfather’s music workshop, an ancient family house that survived occupation and damage at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and was carefully restored by us — it’s here where my grandfather created my first flute for me and taught me how to play it. So I want this place to continue generating treasures" — Onuka. Identity of Fabrychna 12 is based on two local visual features. The first is the “wooden lace” of Chernihiv — a unique decoration of wooden houses with relief patterns. The building at 12 Fabrychna Street, erected in 1904, also belongs to this style, so elements from the exterior transferred into the graphics. The second feature is white-on-white embroidery, characteristic of the Chernihiv region.
